Homes for Sale in Florence, AZ — Josh Bernal, REALTOR®

Florence is one of Arizona’s oldest towns and one of the more interesting Pinal County markets — a mix of historic downtown homes, newer master-planned communities like Anthem at Merrill Ranch, and rural acreage on the outskirts. Each requires a different approach.

Historic brick and adobe storefronts on a main street in Florence, Arizona

I’m Josh Bernal, REALTOR® with Yost Realty Group at RE/MAX Casa Grande, and I work Florence regularly for buyers and sellers.

The three Florence markets

  • Historic downtown Florence. Older homes, character, smaller lots. Inspection due diligence matters more here than almost anywhere else in Pinal County.
  • Anthem at Merrill Ranch. A master-planned community that includes age-restricted (55+) sections qualifying under the Housing for Older Persons Act, along with golf and other amenities. Age restrictions, HOA rules, and amenity access vary by parcel and should be confirmed in the community’s recorded CC&Rs before you write an offer.
  • Rural Florence. Acreage, often well/septic. See similar guidance to Arizona City — these are not standard suburban transactions.

Frequently asked questions about buying or selling in Florence

How much do homes cost in Florence, AZ?

Florence covers a wide price range because it has two distinct sides: the historic town center with character homes, and planned communities like Anthem at Merrill Ranch and Florence Gardens with newer construction and amenities. I can send sold comps for whichever pocket fits your budget.

What's the difference between historic Florence and the planned communities?

The historic center is one of Arizona's oldest towns, with older character homes and a real downtown. Anthem at Merrill Ranch and Florence Gardens offer newer builds, clubhouses, and (at Anthem) golf. Which fits depends on what you want and your budget.

What loan programs do buyers use in Florence?

Several programs serve buyers here, including VA for eligible veterans and service members, USDA in qualifying rural areas outside the city limits, FHA, and Arizona down payment assistance programs. Eligibility depends on the property, your credit, and your income. I am not a lender, and this is not a loan offer or a commitment to lend. A licensed lender can review your situation and give you the actual terms, rates, and disclosures.

How far is Florence from Casa Grande and the Phoenix metro?

It's an easy drive to Casa Grande and to the broader Phoenix metro via the 79 and the 60, which makes it a practical option for commuters and remote buyers alike.
